Diablito and Congo in Portobelo, Panama.
We took clients to Portobelo, Panama with VIP Panama Tours to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site. While we were there some street performers dressed us as a Diablito and a Congo showed us some of their traditional dance.
The Congo then proceeded to teach us about the history of the African slave culture in Portobelo and why they dress us in these elaborate outfits.
The Diablito represent the Spanish slave owners and the Congo represents the slaves.
