THE TASTE OF PANAMA™ Someone ask me: how Panamá taste? For the guy that do food tours, it was a difficult question to answer. Is not that easy! Panamá as been the bridge of the world from its geological birth. This means that many people crossed this isthmus and left some of them behind. ( I talk about leaving something behind when you travel in another post) I don’t know about other, but I like to say we come for the union of different cultures. That makes us original! Yes, it does. We keep the best of the best and then own it. We do it better. Our language came form the old world, our food from the sea, and our species from the Caribbean. Panamá tastes like salty water, coconut, cane honey, curry, cacao, Coffee, ají, lobster, “sancocho” cook on your grandmother's patio, fry fish at El Chorrillo... many more things and places. Let me tell you the story. 😝 Last weekend I had a special request on a tour. This group of people desires to start in morning time 11am. I don't know how to say NO... SO I SAY YES (I should not post this) 😶 Well, now you know my sweet spot let me continue. 🔚 I almost forgot HOW AMAZING IS PANAMA CITY AT RUSH HOURS. I have been stuck in the office working on other projects. (You know who you are) The only thing I was getting of rush hours was TRAFFIC. (Apply LOTS OF WORDS YOU WILL NEVER SAY IN FRONT OF YOUR MOM) Love the vibes of locals shopping on "La Peatonal" & "Avenida Central" All the random street "Fondas" that disappear at 4pm... and the random improvise markets to replace San Felipe Neri Market. This is where I found this thriving woman. She not only knows all the ingredients of her secret HOT SALSA. "SHE FUCKING OWNIT" The 3 generation of hot salsa maker 🌶 She learned it from her mother, and her mother forms her mother. Is the salsa good? Fucking yes!! These People from DC bought 2 big bottles. The salsa is so good that I get one for myself too! I'm amazing how 2 years ago. I take all these things for granted. Didn't appreciate and I'm 100% sure you do the same in your country NOW! I'm a totally different person, and something so simple ad street coconut ice cream amazing me. I love to pay more for what they ask... because I appreciate the tradition. FUCK THE HIPSTER PALETAS! Here is a little story... Last weekend I diced to just go out and take pictures around the hood. I was looking for something different and unexpected. I have to be honest I bored of the usual pictures of Casco Viejo of doors and nice restaurants. So I had this random Idea of WANDER around like a tourist, without thinking about all the stereotypes. I went to explore a little further than usual. Walk the streets of El Chorrillo, While I walk I remember all the stories of my that, hanging out on this town with his friends. I I remember the story when he took me to a party of the legend Roberto Duran. Short-long story, I make a stop on this little “FONDA” own by a family from El Chorrillo. I had a little talk with this young fellow, while I sip on an ICE COLD PIPA. I really want to save this moment forever, so I took a picture!! That will be everything for now.
